Where Families Find the Support They Need

Starting a new life in Canada comes with many questions, especially for families raising children or supporting loved ones with diverse needs. Finding the right services can feel overwhelming when you’re navigating a new country, a new language, and an unfamiliar system.

That’s why our Shout It Out is such an important event.

This annual Families in Settlement event brings newcomer families together with community organizations, service providers, and programs designed to support children, youth, adults, seniors, and individuals with special needs, all in one welcoming space.

Last year, nearly 175 people attended, and even more families are expected this year. Parents can connect with early years and child development programs, learn about supports for children with disabilities and special needs, discover youth programs, and explore services that promote health, well-being, education, and community connection. Seniors and grandparents can also learn about programs that help reduce isolation and build meaningful relationships.

More than an information fair, Shout It Out creates opportunities for conversations that change lives. Families leave with trusted contacts, practical resources, and the confidence of knowing they don’t have to navigate their settlement journey alone.

Join us on Thursday, August 13, at Thomson Memorial Park and discover the programs, services, and community connections that can help your family thrive.
