Celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day
Join us for an engaging and educational celebration of Indigenous culture, history, and traditions. This special event will provide an opportunity to learn about the resilience and experiences of Indigenous peoples in Canada, including the history and lasting impact of Residential Schools and the 60’s Scoop through the powerful story of a survivor. Participants will also explore Canada from a First Nations perspective, gain a deeper understanding of the meaning of National Indigenous Day, and discover traditional First Nations dance styles, including a special Grass Dance presentation.
This event encourages newcomers and community members to build respect, understanding, and meaningful connections while celebrating cultural diversity and honouring Indigenous traditions. Come together with the community to learn, celebrate, and dance in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
